To set, adjust and interconnect the partial function blocks of the low-noise variable gain amplifier (LNVGA), which has been designed in cooperation with ON Semiconductor company, the required control cards have been designed. The first one is a programmer based using Atmel and FTDI driver. The card is connected via USB with the PC running appropriate software that has been also developed by our group. The second measurement and evaluation board houses the LNVGA active element in a LQFP-64 socket and is interconnected with the programmer card via 24-pin connector. The evaluation board is also equipped with input and output connectors and test pins to determine the behaviour of the LNVGA and its partial function blocks under various conditions.
