In the vacuum furnace can be heated materials, typically metals, to very high temperatures and carry out processes such as brazing, sintering and heat treatment with high consistency and low contamination.
In the vacuum furnace, the product is surrounded by a vacuum (up to 10-5 Pa). Due to the absence of other gases such as oxygen, the materials being heated do not react with the surrounding gases as is the case in other types of furnaces, which eliminates the formation of unwanted compounds/impurities/contaminants on the surface. The absence of air or other gases also prevents heat transfer with the product through convection and removes a source of contamination. It is also possible to use vacuum furnace with an inert gas (Ar, N2).
