System for multichannel measurement of electrical quantitites
The system allows easy realisation and automation of measurements of many electrical quantities simultaneously. The main component is Agilent 34980A multifunction switch/measure unit equipped with 80-channel multiplexer array. The measure unit is supplemented by 2-channel synchronous multifunction signal generator Agilent 81150A.
1. Agilent 34980A – is basically a fast and accurate multimeter which is equipped with input multiplexer. Some important parameters include:
-6 1/2 digit resolution.
-Up to 3000 readigns/second.
-Voltage range 100 mV to 300 V, better than 0.003% accuracy.
-Current range 10 mA do 1 A, better than 0.05% accuracy.
-2-wire and 4-wire resistance measurements, 100 ohm to 100 Mohm range.
-Frequency from 3 Hz to 300 kHz.
-80 measuring channels (two Agilent 34921A multiplexer cards), every channel switches Lo and Hi multimeter terminals.
-4 ms typical channel swiching time.
-The switching array can be expanded by up to 6 more cards.
-USB, GPIB and Ethernet (including LXI) interfaces for remote control.
2. Agilent 81150A – essentially includes three different signal generators in one instrument:
-Analog arbitrary waveform generator,
-pulse pattern generator for digital circuits,
-programmable noise generator.
The analog generator has parameters:
-14-bit resolution, 512 kSa pattern memory, up to 2 GSa/s speed.
-Output frequency up to 240 MHz.
-Many pre-defined signal patterns which are easy to set up via built-in graphical user interface.
-Supports sweeping and bursting of the output signal patterns.
-Supports AM, FM, PM, PWM and FSK modulations.
-The output analog signal can be injected with noise from the noise generator.
The pulse pattern generator has parameters:
-Compatible with all current families and technologies of digital circuits.
-Supports two, three and four-state logic signals.
-Up to 120 Mbit/s output speed.
-16 Mbit pattern memory.
-Can generate pseudorandom binary sequences with lengths up to 2^31 bits.
