OPTOKON a.s. was founded in 1991 in the Czech Republic in Jihlava, where the headquarters house the company management, production, calibration laboratory and research and development. OPTOKON holds a valid ISO 9001 certificate of quality management system for connecting optical cables, connectors, splitters and broadband multiplexers. OPTOKON also produces an extensive range of equipment for military tactical systems. This range of products for military use has undergone approval processes for use in the Czech Army and NATO. ACR soldiers in the NATO expeditionary operations currently use OPTOKON tactical military products. OPTOKON provides interconnection and infrastructure solutions in the field of fiber optics with the focus on customer orientation.
Our diverse product line extends over six manufacturing divisions:
- Connectors, Cable Assemblies, Adaptors and Attenuators.
- Cable Management Systems
- Couplers, WDM, CWDM, DWDM
- Data Network Equipment
- Test Equipment
- OPTOKON Harsh Environment Optical Network
The OPTOKON Service Center repairs and services fiber optic measuring instruments and equipment. OPTOKON Jihlava is the parent company of the “OPTOKON GROUP”. As a result of strategic investment into business activities around the world, the “OPTOKON GROUP” has become a leading supplier of passive fiber optic components and data network equipment. The OPTOKON GROUP is also the basis of an international distribution network of products and OPTOKON services. Due to the ever increasing level of technical education of staff and the use of high-tech equipment, OPTOKON participates in many projects in cooperation with major global fiber optic companies. Production companies are overwhelmingly manufacturing innovative products based on our own research and development. One recent example is six different types of components for military tactical networks. Products currently under preparation for introduction into the production are the new innovative “Expanded Beam” connector series for demanding applications, a number of multi-fiber connectors and 1G and 10G optical transceivers.
SIX center cooperation
OPTOKON a.s. cooperates with VUT in the research and development of optoelectronic passive and active components, equipment and testing devices for FTTH networks. Last year, VUT and OPTOKON submitted three projects within the MPO. The aim is to create new technology used for building FTTH optical access networks.
