Phoenix X-ray Micromex DXR-HD is an x-ray machine for inspection of populated printed circuit boards. Another big application area includes exposure of counterfeited electronic components. Thanks to high power of its x-ray tube however, it can also be used for defect detection inspection in mechanical components. The x-ray images of device under test are acquired in real time by a silicon sensor and displayed on an LCD screen. The acquired images can then be analyzed by specialized software, which is designed to automatically find most common soldering defects of BGA, QFN, TQFP and similar packages. Important parameters include:

Inspected object dimensions: up to 457 x 355 x 105 mm (up to 610 x 510 x 105 mm without rotary table)
Inspected object weight: 10 kg max.
Manipulation with object: fully CNC, 5-axis (x, y, z, rotation, obligue view)
Obligue view range: 0 to 70 degrees from perpendicular
X-ray sensor: DXR250RT type, 1 Mpixel, 30 fps, 14-bit ADC, active temperature stabilisation
Detail detectability: 0.5 um
Geometric magnification: up to 1970x
Total magnification: up to 23320x
X-ray tube: 180 kV, 20 W, collimated
